- Developed a student-facing infographic to explain the sanctioning process in a clearer and more accessible way.
- Shared the infographic with stakeholders for review and received approval to move forward.
- Partnered with the Office of Strategic Communications to create a designed version of the infographic.
- Partnered with Dr. Caroyln Hartley’s class to gather student feedback on the infographic and began incorporating suggested revisions. Infographic to be complete summer 2026.
Priority: Prepare professional students in clinical, practicum, and client-facing settings to respond to unwanted behaviors.
- Convened the Clinical Preparedness & Response Education Working Group to advance this strategy.
- Developed the script for an online course designed to help professional students build skills for responding to unwanted behaviors in clinical and practicum settings.
- Began planning a pilot of the online course for fall 2026 for nursing students.
Priority: Create a robust, easy-to-navigate website with resources, conversation guide, example scenarios and one-page infographic for employees.
- Convened the Campus Prevention & Support Website Working Group to guide improvements to website content and related educational resources.
- Advanced work on a conversation guide, infographic, and updated website content.

- Partnered with Leadership & Engagement to create a resource for student organizations on supporting members who report sexual misconduct.
- Made the resource available through the Leadership & Engagement website.
Priority: Document and communicate the impact of Anti-Violence Coalition work.
- Launched and completed the Anti-Violence Coalition Storytelling Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
- The fellow produced a comprehensive storytelling report highlighting the coalition’s impact, collaboration, shared values, assessment efforts, and the often-unseen work that supports prevention and response across campus.
Priority: Strengthen student education about support resources and help-seeking pathways.
- Convened the Student Support & Resource Education Working Group to review current education efforts and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Completed the working group report.
- Partnered with Orientation to develop an interactive scavenger hunt for On Iowa that introduces students to support resources.
- Identified an additional scavenger hunt opportunity for spring 2027 in connection with Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Priority: Respond to recommendations from the Undergraduate Research Fellowship report on Resident Assistants (RAs).
- Trauma-informed training is provided to RAs, including Introduction to UCS Embedded Therapy Services, three rotating empathy-focused trainings for returning RAs, Responding to Students in Distress, Behind Closed Doors, and training by OCRC.
- Residence Education has provided winter training on managing vicarious trauma and self-care and boundary setting to support RA well-being.
- There is a built-in structure for RAs to have an opportunity to debrief incidents with their hall coordinator and embedded therapists. Professional staff training in the summer is trauma informed.
